Cameron's first name is the name of a very old clan in the western highlands of Scotland. His mother's maiden name (Clark) as well as her great-grandmother Clark's maiden name (Chambers) are both considered subsets (septs) of the Camerons. Cameron's middle name, Alan, means "cheerful" in Gaelic and is also the middle name of his Thrap grandfather and great-grandfather.
